Grace Street is our #1 pick for you in Georgetown. It has some of the best coffee in the neighborhood, and with a recently renovated shop, you’ll love sitting in the new space that also features biking attire and gear. It’s airy, located on a cute backstreet, and the coffee is divine. We’ve also had an excellent matcha latte from this locale. Enjoy! Outdoor seating = check. With a short walk, you can enjoy your coffee sitting by Georgetown’s historic C&O Canal. 5 stars.

Call Your Mother Deli

Back again on another neighborhood guide! We just can’t resist Call Your Mother’s (CYM) bagels and incredible sandwiches. A must-visit when you’re in the District, and brewing some delicious coffee from Lost Sock. We implore you to go for a bagel and to grab a coffee as well. Outdoor seating = not at this location, but Georgetown is incredibly walkable and you can head to the C&O Canal or the waterfront to enjoy your CYM treats!

Blue Bottle Coffee

All right, we don’t normally post coffee chains on these lists, but the coffee from Blue Bottle is consistently above parr. Wonderful tasting notes from their different roasts and a unique shop location, we recommend this shop with 4.5 stars. Outdoor seating = check.

4.5 stars goes to Baked & Wired for their coffee shop! We wrote about this uber famous cupcake shop here, but they have some great coffee, too. Grab some coffee from the right side of their store after you visit the left side for a decadent cupcake or two. A really fun and Instagram-worthy place. Be prepared to stand in line! Outdoor seating = check.

Boulangerie Christophe

Looking for some coffee and croissant a little more off the beaten path? If you venture a little bit higher up Wisconsin Avenue, you’ll find a petite boulangerie with a stunning display of fresh pastries, quiches, baguettes, and sandwiches. The secret of Christophe’s however is the adorable and serene back patio… where you can sit and sip your coffee while surrounded by peaceful stone and chirping birds. Best outdoor patio on this list, if not in DC proper!

Compass Coffee

You must visit the Compass Coffee in Georgetown; it’s in a old cinema. Really cool signage outside, and lots of space to sit in the interior. A very cool vibe, usually bustling with local folks. Try one of their signature drinks like the Cherry Blossom Cold Brew. Outdoor seating = no, but the interior will hopefully entice you to study or hob nob with friends.

NOTES: Did you notice that Georgetown Café is missing from this list? That’s because while the latte art (printed) is really fun, and the décor elegant, we haven’t had the best coffee or customer service from this location (1.5 stars from us). Otherwise, we’ve heard that Crumbs & Whiskers, Georgetown’s cat café, is joyful, but we haven’t visited and so therefore cannot provide a review at this time.
