What are some must-visit attractions in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma is home to plenty of interesting attractions, ranging from educational to offbeat and everything in between. Some of the must-see attractions in the state include historic destinations, like the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, and some are excellent showcases of the beauty of the state, like the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. We also recommend visiting the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Philbrook Museum of Art – you’ll be inspired to create! The Tulsa Zoo is also a must-see spot, and Broken Bow Lake is a breathtaking place with plenty of recreation to be done.
What are the most fun cities to visit in Oklahoma?
One of the best things about Oklahoma, we feel, is the abundance of small towns. There are only a couple of big cities, but there’s plenty of small towns. Some towns, however, tend to be so charming that folks gravitate to them. One such town is the town of Guthrie, which was the original capital of Oklahoma. It’s home to the Guthrie Historic District, which is now a national landmark. You can’t miss its adorable main street. We also recommend a visit to Ada, an artsy little town with a ton and a half of heart and soul.
What kind of Oklahoma day trips should I add to my bucket list?
Where to begin! Oklahoma is a blast when you know where to look – or where to travel! You could easily spend the day exploring the 180 miles of shoreline along beautiful Broken Bow Lake, which is a sparkling slice of paradise in the Ouachitas. You could also make a day trip out of Oklahoma wine country – it does exist! If you’re at Broken Bow Lake already, make sure to save time to check out Vojai’s Winery.
