We are Lone Star Comics, selling online as MyComicShop. We’ve been selling comics since 1961 and are the largest comic book retailer in the world. Each year we buy millions of comics from sellers all across the United States and around the world. We buy single high value comics, collections large and small, estates, and dealer and retail store inventories.

We make selling comics easy and treat you fairly regardless of your experience and knowledge of comics. We are a two-generation family-owned business with over 100 employees. We have an outstanding reputation for honesty and square dealing. See testimonials from sellers

In addition to comic books, graphic novels, and comic magazines, we also buy original comic art, pulps, digest magazines, fanzines, vintage paperbacks, and pre-1980s Men’s interest magazines.

Read this first: If your comics are from the 1980s, 1990s, or newer, or you just want to know what your comics are worth

Unfortunately most comics published in the 1980s, 1990s, and newer are very common and so not worth very much. We sell most comics from this time period for between $1.00 and $3.00, and buy them for less than $1.00 or not at all because we’re already well stocked with them.

  • Look up your comic on our online want list to see if we’re buying it, and if so how much we’ll pay. If it’s not on our want list, then it’s usually a common comic and not worth very much. If it is worth enough to sell, you can use our online want list to sell it.
  • Look up your comic using the search on MyComicShop
  • Look up your comic on eBay to see what other copies are being listed for sale at. Even better, use the options to see eBay completed listings, since a completed sale is more informative than an asking price on an unsold item.

Then, if you think your comics are valuable enough to be worth selling to us, you can use our online want list to sell your comics from the 1980s, 1990s, and newer. If you’re a knowledgeable comic collector or dealer and have high value items you wish to sell or consign, including CGC and CBCS graded comics, you should also look at Option 1B (sell CGC and CBCS graded comics) and Option 4 (consignment) described below.

We will buy your entire collection under option 3 if at least half of your collection is comics cover priced $0.35 or less. Before offering your comics to us, we suggest you check with your local comic store, or antique shop or used book store if there’s no comic store in your area, and get an offer price from them for your comics. • If you have a complete list of your comics, send it to us. We will evaluate your list and get back to you with an offer for your whole collection.
  • If you don’t have a list, you don’t have to spend endless hours creating one. Instead, send us a cover price count summary which can be prepared very quickly. That and a few follow up questions from us and you’ll have our offer.
  • When we buy your collection, we’ll either pick up your comics or cover the shipping costs if you are shipping from within the continental United States.
  • If we have a Buying Partner

  1. Absolutely great tip on inspecting wall books before purchase. But, 30+ years of Simpsons Comic Book Guy behavior by LCS owners has left me with a pretty thin skin. I get an eye roll for asking to inspect a comic and I’m probably hitting the bricks. I don’t buy a ton of wall books but when I do, I ask THEM to open it. That way there’s no room for error. I still have PTSD from the time I tape-pulled a big chunk of blue off Spidey’s butt on my own 9.0ish ASM #38 back in 1990. The pain is still there. As far as tips of my own, I keep a list (on an index card) of books I’m really hunting for and when/if an LCS asks “Can I help you find something?” I’m like BAM! here’s a list. Usually, I get blank stares but occasionally I’ll hit on an “I have that.”
